Quick answers to the questions we hear most about Pitch Studio.
Will a proposal with lots of artists still load fast on a phone?
Yes. We tested the YETI proposal on a phone-sized screen with the processor slowed down four times, to act like an older phone:

Each artist adds only about 2 KB of text. Photos load as the client scrolls to them, and the Spotify player only loads when someone taps play. Photos are most of what a phone downloads. The finished app serves small, resized photos from the CDN, so a long list stays quick on mobile data.
Two phone improvements came out of the test and are on the way: artist cards two across, so long lists take half the scrolling, and the review button tucking into a small bubble so it doesn’t cover the cards.
What does a client need to open a proposal?
Just the link. No account, no app and no download. It opens in any phone or computer browser, including on locked-down corporate networks, and it will live on F.A.M.’s own address (pitch.fieldathletic.com).
Can we keep a proposal private?
Yes. Every proposal has its own private link that search engines never list. F.A.M. can set a link to expire, turn it off at any time, or add a passcode.
Can clients see what we pay the artists?
Only if you want them to. Each proposal has a fee switch. When it’s off, fees are never sent to the client’s page at all, not just hidden.
What if the client loses signal while picking?
Picks are saved on their phone first and sent as soon as there’s signal, so nothing is lost. Picks also follow the client if they switch from phone to laptop.
What if something goes down?
Published proposals are frozen copies served from Cloudflare’s network, so client links keep working even if the database is down. The database is backed up every night, errors alert us before anyone reports them, and uptime is checked every few minutes.
Where do the artist photos, bios and stats come from?
Type an artist’s name and Pitch Studio pulls their photo, genres and player from Spotify, subscribers and top video from YouTube, their Apple Music link, and a short bio and hometown from MusicBrainz and Wikipedia. Everything can be edited before saving. Spotify doesn’t share monthly listeners, so that number is typed in with an “as of” date.
How long until F.A.M. can use it?
About 13 weeks from kickoff, with a working demo at the end of every phase. The Roadmap tab shows where each phase stands.
What does it cost?
Pricing is TBD. The web services Pitch Studio runs on cost about $5 a month in total; the Tech stack tab lists each one.
